I have two daughters in their 30s, both married (no grandchildren yet!). One is a Cook County public defender and the other is a graduate of Keck and is currently a pediatric emergency medicine fellow at Loma Linda; she completed her pediatric residency at CHLA. My husband and I have two Labrador retrievers – Kona a chocolate lab and Lulu a black lab mix. I love reading mystery novels and watching romantic comedies. I have a love of dance and have danced my entire life; recently I took ballroom dance classes. My dream was to dance on Broadway!

I have a passion for crafts, especially for making cards (I even have a side hustle Etsy shop for handmade greeting cards).
I also enjoy crocheting and cross-stitching.
I get a rush from breaking out of escape rooms, and I secretly love Barry Manilow's song, Mandy, for which I am named.

I had the privilege of working at the University of Rwanda School of Nursing for 2 years in 2012 and 2013. These amazing students are now my family and I have traveled back over the years for their weddings and celebrations. Despite the distance l love having “adopted” children who continue to teach me the power of kindness, justice, resilience, and compassion.

I’m a lifelong Trojan and SoCal resident who was born and raised in the “SGV.” I’m a fan of football and music, going to concerts (of all genre, but usually pop/rock), and am married to a musician. I love my three jobs--Med/Peds hospitalist, Student Affairs, and mother to my three children (2 fur children and 1 human toddler)—and enjoy spending quality time with family and friends doing one of my favorite activities—eating and enjoying boba.

My favorite way to decompress is to cook. Yes, chopping, dicing, mixing and tasting are excellent de-stressors. I love creating different dishes for my husband and son (when he is visiting from Chicago.) Their favorite meal is seafood etouffee. As you can imagine, there is a great deal of cooking this year!
